I am accustomed to talking to the leftist as my father is a communist, actually a member of the Japanese Communist Party. I have believed their ideal is just wrong and proved to be wrong, but it is not an issue of their being so that I am not allergic to deny them as a human being.
Additionally, my father used to be one of the leaders at the labor union of his company so that it was completely different from the activity conducted by the left extremist. As far as I know, there was no violence for the labor union activity, not political but more toward to secure the workers’ share.
It was true that he played a role in the communist party, but it was legalized in Japan which still has tens of seats in the parliament and their activity does not include fighting violently.
It is an act of the left extremist to demonstrate violently holding a dangerous rod, who actually has hated a member of the communist party as they got out of the scene just before the act became violent. The central committee of the communist party ordered their member not to join the violence and to leave the spot beforehand.
The left extremist has hated and ridiculed this nature as it is not an act of the left revolutionist to obey the central command. All of the left extremist factions have pursued a violent revolution with force, whose ideal makes them the extremist as a definition.
My father was not related to this type of the activists, but he used to work at the American company and negotiated with the management many times as one of the leaders of the union.
As you can imagine, he has been a target of the CIA, as he is a member of the communist party to lead the labor union at the American company. This was the perfect profile of the American enemy of 1960s and he has been under the intelligence surveillance for more than half a century since then.
At the same time, his profile was an enemy to the Japanese police intelligence. In reality, their main target should have been the left extremist, but the police has targeted the communist party as one of their main enemies.
I came to understand this reason recently that the Japanese communist party is large enough to send their members to the parliament, but the extremist factions were incapable. Moreover, the extremist activity was centered in the urban area so that it was necessary to target the communist party to maintain the intelligence organization and budget all over the country.
It was the main reason why my father has been targeted by the police for half a century, even though he was not politically active for the latter half of this period.
On the other hand, some of the extremists have not been targeted by the police profoundly like this, which implies that the Japanese police intelligence was connected somehow to some left extremist factions.
